Jeep® Service Checklist

Jeep Service

Whether you’re a new driver or a veteran, it can be difficult to keep up with all the services your vehicle needs to operate properly. That’s why we made a checklist that will help you know when you’ll need to schedule Jeep® service at our Jeep service center.

Oil and Oil Filter Changes

You may be wondering how often you need an oil change at our Woodbridge, NJ Jeep dealership. Some cars need this service more frequently than others.

Older vehicles normally need an oil change every 3,000 miles or so. Newer cars can often travel 5,000 miles or more before they need fresh oil and a new oil filter. To see when you’ll need to schedule a Jeep oil change, review the routine maintenance schedule that’s in your owner’s manual or contact our team.

Tire Rotations

Having your tires rotated isn’t a Jeep service you should put off. Rotating your tires is necessary to ensure they wear evenly and last as long as possible. The general rule of thumb is to have your tires rotated every 5,000 – 8,000 miles, although some drivers may need to have them rotated more often depending on the conditions they drive in daily.

New Air Filter Installations

Your car’s air filters stop dust and dirt from getting into your engine and your vehicle’s cabin. If your engine air filter is clogged, debris may reach your engine, causing damage and reducing its efficiency. A clogged cabin air filter may negatively influence the quality of the air you breathe when you’re inside your car.

It’s wise to change your air filters every 12 months or 12,000 – 15,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you’re a do-it-yourselfer, you can pick up new air filters in our Jeep parts department. All other drivers should schedule an appointment with our Jeep service center to have old filters replaced with new ones.

Battery Replacements

Most car batteries don’t make it to the age of six. If your battery is three years old or older, you should get it tested at least once a year to make sure it has enough juice left. You should also prepare for an upcoming new battery installation in the months or years ahead.
